How to curate a club night
Most cities are full of club nights, so what makes a party stand out?
In part three of What I’d Build, ARNII turns his attention to music curation. It all comes down to your secret sauce, he says: your vision.
Having put together hundreds of club nights during his career, ARNII breaks down four types of party that exist in every city. There are locals-only nights, big-ticket sellers, genre-hybrid events and showcases.
The problem, he argues, is that too many promoters copy whoever is winning right now, chasing existing aesthetics instead of building a narrative of their own.
Watch part three here, and tell us: what kind of party is your city missing? If you were to throw a club night, which route would you go down?
You can also revisit part one, in which ARNII designed the space itself, and part two, where he made the case that the right collective of people matters more than anything else.
