Six Festivals You Need to Know for 2026

Six Festivals You Need to Know for 2026
On the final day of Slovenia’s Butik festival, all the stages reduce to one, and everyone comes together for one last dance. It’s a small detail, but it says everything.
That’s the thread connecting the six festivals below. We’ve curated a list of events that treat the dancefloor with the reverence it deserves, where the music, the people, and the wider experience are all given the same care.
These are some of the festivals that really get it right.
Which ones would you add to the list?
Flash, Italy
13th - 16th May
Rooted in its Tuscan surroundings as much as its lineup, Flash understands that a great festival experience goes beyond the music. Sets from the likes of Midland and CC:DISCO! are woven into something bigger, with local wine tasting, pasta making with nonna, and a broad wellness programme—all of it inspired by the landscapes and culture of the region. The result is a weekend that feels as nourishing as it does euphoric. Che bello!

Kala, Albania
3rd - 10th June
When Kala launched in 2018, the team understood something important: where you’re dancing matters as much as what you’re dancing to. Set along the breathtaking Albanian Riviera, it’s grown into one of the calendar’s most cherished experiences. This year, Avalon Emerson & Aurora Halal, Eris Drew & Octo Octa, and more are lined up for the coveted extended sunrise sets.

Twisted, UK
3rd - 5th July
Twisted is a tiny gathering with an atmosphere so immersive you’ll quickly forget you’re somewhere in Hampshire. The weekender might be small, but the production is hefty—OK Williams, 2 Bad Mice, and Michelle Manetti will be working the systems this year—making for a proper little rave where new dancefloor friendships blossom everywhere.

Bass Coast, Canada
10th - 13th July
Eighteen years in, Bass Coast is one of the most important festivals in North America. Fiercely independent, community-driven, and with an innovative approach to harm reduction, it’s an event that genuinely gets what this is all for. Set against the stunning British Columbia countryside, this year’s edition will feature the likes of Cinthie, DJ Minx, and Mike Servito.

Butik, Slovenia
14th - 18th July
Nestled where the rivers Soča and Tolminka meet, Butik is as spectacular in its setting as it is in its intentions. The lineup is excellent—Powder, Ben UFO, and Mayell all feature this year—but it's the thinking behind the programming that sets it apart. Set times are organised to encourage attendees to rest, and on the final day, all stages reduce to one, so everyone comes together for one last dance.

We Out Here, UK
20th - 23rd August
In his long and esteemed career, Gilles Peterson has always been about delivering a considered experience, and We Out Here is no exception. The four-day celebration of music and creativity welcomes fans of all ages, making for one of the warmest and most inclusive festival atmospheres going. This year’s lineup runs from Joy Crookes and Actress playing live to Josey Rebelle and Colleen ‘Cosmo’ Murphy behind the decks—a programme as eclectic and generous as the man behind it all.
