How your dancefloor spot defines you
The dance floor is a fascinating space. To an outside observer, they may seem to be chaotic and disorganised. But, if you look a little deeper, you’ll notice that they often fall into similar geographic patterns.
Everyone has “their spot”, the place where they feel most comfortable, or simply enjoy being the most. Where you spend most of your time can reveal a lot about your persona.
Here’s what your spot says about you…
FRONT LEFT
This spot has achieved near-mythical status among ravers. The front is generally considered the prime location for those of you who like to get yourselves deep in the music. Front left is the meeting point for groups — if you hang out here, you’re a seasoned pro.
CENTRE
This is where you’ll experience the true intensity of the dance floor. At Berghain, for instance, it’s where the sound system hits hardest. You’ll be in the heart of it — action, people, sound and visuals.
Middle-of-the-dance-floor ravers like it intense and immersive.
NEXT TO THE SPEAKERS
There’s always a few that want to feel the music pulsating through their bodies. Some crazy folk even put their heads in the bassbins. Yep, this is where you bass lovers congregate, getting as close to the music as humanly possible, invigorated by the physical experience.
THE BACK
If you hang out at the back of the club, you’re more of a social creature. You can mingle, and dip in and out of the dance floor if you want to. Usually, there’ll be a bar a short distance away from the back of the dance floor, so it’s a convenient spot for many reasons.
THE FRINGES
If you spend more of your time on the outskirts of the dance floor, you like to flirt with its energy.
Perhaps you’re overwhelmed by its intensity and need some safety, but you also want to push yourself to get more involved. The fringes are perfect for psyching yourself up before you decide to get knee-deep.
