Rave friends can be some of the best friends you’ll ever make. When you’ve been on the frontline of a marathon sesh together, you can create friends for life.

They’ve seen you at your best and worst, and been there with you all the way through to the birds tweeting at 7am. There are lots of different types of friends you make at raves, here are five of them…

THE LIFE & SOUL OF THE RAVE

Usually known as “Dave the Rave” or some other equivalent, this is the friend that you will always see at everything you go to. You don’t know what they do for a living, but somehow it affords them the time, energy and money to be out All. The. Time.

THE ULTRA GENEROUS FRIEND

Here we meet the lesser-spotted Generousaurus. They’ll happily buy your drinks all night, practically feed you all their naughty bits and even pay for the Uber home. All they want is for everyone to have the best time of their lives.

THE SILLY FRIEND

Everyone knows that one person who doesn’t take themselves too seriously and will always be way more silly than everyone else. Whether they dress up in outlandish outfits, pull off crazy dance moves or clown around with other people in the club, they are a constant source of hilarity.

THE TRAINSPOTTER

This friend is a true connoisseur of rave music, whatever their preference. They’ll have in-depth knowledge of every artist on the lineup, and be able to namecheck most of the tunes, like a human Shazam. Very helpful, but sometimes needs to loosen up a bit.

THE BEST FRIEND FOR A NIGHT

You’ve all been there, you find “the one” on a night out. A chance meeting brings you into alignment with a raver who is exactly like you, and you become inseparable for the night. Best friends, twin ravers. But you never see them again...
