5 secrets bouncers want you to know
Often we think of bouncers as the enemy. Teams of security who place you under scrutiny, out to ruin your fun and find an excuse to kick you out of the club.
Of course, there are some bouncers who fit that description, but most are there for your protection and to make sure you enjoy yourself without coming to any harm. The world of security is not something many of us are privy to, so here are a few secrets bouncers want you to know…
THEY ARE BODY LANGUAGE EXPERTS
Though you may feel like you’re holding it down when you roll up to a club, bouncers can spot a drunken amble a mile off. That may not stop you entering, but add in suspicious, or rowdy, behaviour and you’re likely to fall at the first hurdle.
ONCE YOU’RE OUT, YOU ARE OUT
If you’ve been kicked to the curb, for whatever reason, even if you feel it was unjust, you’re not getting back in. Many have tried, and failed, to convince security staff to let them back in after they’ve been given the heave ho. So, accept your fate and go home.
CALLING THE POLICE IS A LAST RESORT
Funnily enough, bouncers don’t want to have to call the police. Why? Well, it brings negative attention to the establishment they work for. No one wants the police raiding their venue, putting it under surveillance or potentially revoking its licence.
THEY DON’T WANT TO SPOIL YOUR FUN
As much as it can feel like they’re waiting for you to trip up so they can pounce, bouncers genuinely want to have an easy night without any drama. Keep your activity respectful and discreet, and everyone’s happy.
VOMMING = INSTANT EJECTION
With bouncers there are a few absolutes, which will always result in the same outcome. Get caught throwing up in the club and you are out. No excuses, no second chances. Out.
