4 ways to level up your summer antics
Summer is well under way and we’re a few months into festival season, which means burnout could be on the cards if you’ve been overindulging. A combination of good weather, debauched days in the park and raves by night, combined with life outside the rave means there’s a distinct chance of wearing yourself out.
Keeping in mind that it’s always a marathon and not a sprint is one thing, but actually having a consistent, considered approach to raving takes dedication. Here are four surefire ways to level up your summer antics so you don’t wind up having to tap out until the winter months.
RAVE AT YOUR OWN PACE
We all know our limits. Many of us will push through them in order to keep the good times rolling, but in order to truly level up your summer antics stick to your limits.
For instance, if you’re someone who needs a lot of sleep, make sure you get it. Basic but crucial advice: remember there’s always another party. Do it your way, and you’ll reap the benefits.
TAKE BREAKS
Though it may seem like summer will be over in the blink of an eye, that doesn’t mean you have to attend every single party and festival on the calendar. Taking regular breaks - a weekend at least - gives your body and mind time to recover, so you have more energy for the fun times.
THE POWER OF NO
Learning to hold your boundaries is critical to levelling up your summer. Empowering yourself with a “No” will ensure that you last the distance. If No feels a bit too severe, you can always give yourself a Power Hour. That is, make a deal with yourself to go out for an hour and see how you feel. If the vibe isn’t right, then leave.
GET PLENTY OF REST
If you really do want to go to every party and festival you can, then at the very least make sure you get lots of rest when you’re not OUT out. The time spent chilling and recovering in between big weekends will keep your mind and body in balance. Yeah it’s tempting to hit a pub garden after work but you’ll tarnish your big weekend if you do.
