4 tips to cope with mid-rave nausea
Partying all night long can impact your wellbeing in many different ways, positive and negative. Occasionally you may end up overindulging and dealing with a case of nausea.
We all know that feeling; hot sweats, stomach churning, perhaps your muscles ache, you might feel dizzy and, worst of all, as though you’re going to puke at any moment. How to cope with this awful feeling? Here are four solid tips…
GET SOME FRESH AIR
The club environment is not conducive to coping with nausea at all. It can be hot, stuffy, claustrophobic and noisy. So get outside for a while to chill and get some breathing space.
DEEP BREATHS
Deep breathing will not only ease your mind, but it also relaxes the body. Nausea leads to the stomach muscles tightening up, so try to focus on deep breaths to alleviate the tension.
SIT UPRIGHT
Standing up will only serve to exacerbate any feelings of dizziness, which amplify nausea. So find a seat, stay upright and utilise your breath to maintain control of your stress levels.
WATER
The elixir of life and an essential component of any night out, water is another key ally in the battle with nausea. Ask the bar staff to add some lemon to level up the impact. Lemons contain citric acid which can soothe the stomach.
