How to detox after a rave
One of the main pitfalls of the party lifestyle is the fallout post-rave. We all know that a night of consuming any kind of intoxicant isn’t necessarily good for your health.
The payback can be harsh at times and, if you haven’t taken action to detox afterwards, it can haunt you through the week and potentially have longer-term implications.
Taking a few simple steps after a night, or weekend, of partying, can head off negative consequences and save you from the grinding woe that often crops up after a heavy weekend.
KEEP IT SIMPLE
The last thing you want after a big night out is to have a complex routine to follow, so these simple actions are intended to make it as easy as possible for you to counteract the weekend’s debauchery.
DRINK LOTS OF WATER
Easy and highly effective, flush toxins out of your body by drinking lots of water. H2O is an elixir of life and hydration is an essential component of any kind of detox.
SLEEP, SLEEP & MORE SLEEP
After putting your body through the stress of a rave, it needs time to recover and rejuvenate your system inside and out. Sleep is where this regeneration process takes place, so rest up and rest a lot.
FRUIT AND VEG
A night of shenanigans not only intoxicates you but also leaves you depleted. So skip the fried chicken and chips and top up your vitamin, nutrient and healthy sugar intake instead.
SWEAT IT OUT
The skin is one of the body’s main exits for detoxification. Try visiting a sauna or, if you can manage it, 30 - 45 mins of exercise that gets you sweating. That’s when you’re not sleeping of course.
